Civilian Instruction

Booking
Payment in full at the time of booking a class is required. Small groups may self-assemble or be coordinated by S2 Alpha with prior agreement by the students. Students will be required to provide an affidavit that they are not a Federally prohibited person to possess a firearm, provide a copy of their License to Carry (if they are in possession of one) and may be required to pay $50 for a background check. Students will also be required to sign a waiver of liability at the time of registration.

Cancellation
Cancellation notices received 30 days in advance of class will result in a refund of 85% of tuition paid. Cancellations received after 30 days but more than two (2) weeks prior to class will result in a refund of 50% of tuition paid. Cancellations after two (2) weeks prior to the start of class will result in forfeiture of tuition. In all cases, tuition paid may be applied to a future class, less a 15% rebooking fee.

Firearms
All student-owned firearms are subject to inspection and their use shall be at the sole discretion of the Range Safety Officer.

Ammunition
Only new, factory loaded ammunition shall be used in classes. Reloads are specifically prohibited. Ammunition is subject to inspection by the Range Safety Officer.

Holsters
Students will not be allowed to use any holster that presents a safety hazard as determined by the Range Safety Officer. Thigh rigs, shoulder holsters and cross-draw holsters are specifically prohibited. Strong-side OWB holsters are recommended. Strong-side IWB holsters permitted.

Safety
Repeated safety violations are cause for dismissal from class, forfeiture of tuition and exclusion from future classes.

Law Enforcement

Fees
Fees do not include out-of-pocket expenses for mileage (billed at the current IRS rate), tolls, targets, ammunition and other incidental expenses. All out-of-pocket expenses will be documented with receipts and reported separately.

Limits on Numbers of Participants
Limits on numbers of participants are shown for guidance only. Limits may be adjusted depending on the needs of the department, the facilities available and the participation on the range by the department’s own firearms instructors.

Safety
S2 Alpha rigorously adheres to MPTC safety standards on the range and expects all officers receiving instruction to do likewise. Repeated safety violations will result in the officer being dismissed from the class.
