Pre-Academy Basic Instruction
Course Details
While many older officers grew up with guns, todays crop of recruits (unless they have been in the military) are not so fortunate. In the Academy, time and finances preclude a gradual introduction to handgun shooting. The recruit's first exposure to live fire may well be a defensive caliber weapon with a polymer frame that produces significant recoil. The result can be flinching and shot anticipation habits which, if they become training "scars", are hard to overcome. We provide a low stress introduction to basic handgun shooting. This one day class includes safety training, weapon handling and operation and live fire starting with .22 caliber rounds and gradually ramping up to the recruit's future duty ammo.

Course Reviews
"I always use to think I was a good enough shot growing up, but as a police officer good enough isn't enough, you need to be perfect. Before I went off to the Police Academy, that's exactly what Bruce did, he helped perfect my skills and teach me the little things in shooting that you normally don't learn. I can honestly say Bruce has given me real confidence in my shooting".
